Apple Cider Vinegar as a Tonic
Apple Cider Vinegar is one of the oldest, most powerful, healing home remedies imaginable.
It has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. Among the ailments it’s said to cure are constipation, gut problems, allergies, acne, high cholesterol, joint pain, weight loss, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, dandruff, chronic fatique, candida, sore throat, gum infection, sinus infection, flu, acid reflux, leg cramps and ear infections. It’s also used to help dissolve kidney stones, lower high blood pressure, and it’s also been shown to help with type 2 diabetes by improving insulin sensitivity.
As a wonderful side effect of drinking apple cider vinegar every day, I’ve discovered that it brings a healthy, rosy glow to your skin! It’s also great to assist weight loss!
Daily Tonic
1.5L filtered warm or room temperature water
3+ tbsp (to taste) Apple Cider Vinegar (Bragg’s is best). Increase the ACV as your tolerance improves. I’m up to 5 tbsp or more now.
3 tbsp (or to taste) raw honey or Manuka honey is good too (you can get these in the health food store)
Juice of 1-2 lemons preferably organic or off a neighbour’s tree
Optional extras: fresh ginger root, chilli powder, fresh turmeric root, whatever else you think might be good J
Pour everything into a large, glass jug that will fit in the fridge. Stir until the honey dissolves. Drink!
Dose: 1 – 3 glasses per day
